James D. Abbott M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon for BEST Surgery & Therapies responsible for diagnosing problems that affect muscles, bones, and joints. He also provides conservative treatment and surgery for degenerative diseases and infections, with a specialization in hip and knee surgery such as direct anterior total hip arthroplasty.
With over 13 years of experience in clinical practice, an average of 220 knee and hip cases per year, Dr. Abbott has performed hundreds of successful surgical procedures and believes in working directly with patients so they receive the care that best fits into their lifestyle.
Dr. Abbott received his doctorate from the Toledo School of Medicine in 2002. He was born and raised in central Ohio and returned to Cincinnati, OH in 2008 after completing residency and fellowship training in Orthopaedics at the University of Louisville. His goal as a physician is to present options for every patient to optimize their quality of life and physical abilities. He has a wife named Sheila, and four sons named Sam, Alex, Joe, and Ben. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, participating in his church or scouting activities including hiking, camping, and helping with his son’s sports endeavors.
